About IBGX
iShares Euro Government Bond 3-5yr UCITS ETF is an exchange-traded fund managed by BlackRock that tracks the performance of the Bloomberg Euro Government Bond 5 Year Term Index, previously known as the Barclays Euro Government Bond 5 year Term Index. It primarily invests in euro-denominated, fixed-rate, investment-grade government bonds with remaining maturities between three and five years, rated BBB- or higher by S&P and Fitch, or Baa3 or above by Moody’s. The portfolio features significant allocations to bonds issued by France (around 31-32%), Germany (30-31%), Italy (23-25%), Spain (13%), and smaller exposure to the Netherlands. Employing a representative sampling methodology, the ETF provides investors with targeted exposure to the fixed-income markets of the European Monetary Union region, focusing on sovereign debt from key eurozone countries. With a low total expense ratio of 0.20% p.a., it holds a concentrated set of about 17 holdings and is domiciled in Ireland, launched in December 2006. This ETF plays a vital role in diversified bond portfolios, offering intermediate-term duration characteristics and liquidity across multiple European exchanges.
